Task: Raise awareness and donations for Arthelps' Syrian projects through innovative visual reconstruction of pre-war Syria.‍
The Idea: We transformed Instagram's fleeting posts into a digital time capsule of Aleppo's lost landmarks. Leveraging advanced AI and photogrammetry, we converted thousands of pre-war Instagram photos from various Syrian locations into immersive 3D environments, accessible via VR or smartphone.
This groundbreaking fusion of social media archaeology and cutting-edge technology allowed us to recreate multiple historic sites from the collective memories of countless users. The result is a powerful, explorable testament to Syria's diverse cultural heritage, offering viewers a visceral connection to the past and a stark reminder of war's impact.
By reimagining social media as a preservation tool, we've not only created an effective awareness campaign but also pioneered a new approach to digital cultural conservation, bridging technology, art, and human experience across Syria.
